The WWE Hall Of Fame is billed as one of the most important and prestigious accomplishments for anyone to achieve in the professional wrestling world. Nearly all of the greats who have walked through the doors in WWE (and some of those who made legends of themselves elsewhere) have been granted a place in the Hall Of Fame, such as Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Andre The Giant, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and countless others.

However, the WWE Hall Of Fame isn’t necessarily a place for just the best to have ever done it, and in fact there have been inductees over the years that haven’t fit the billing for the Hall Of Fame. Whether it be through a lack of legacy, controversy that makes them undeserving of a spot, or the fact that they were overrated the following names should never have been inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
Queen Sharmell Did Nothing To Warrant A Hall Of Fame Induction
She Is Not Among The Most Notable Women In WWE History
Year Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame | Inducted By |

2022 | Booker T |
As solid as Queen Sharmell was during her work alongside Booker T during his “King Booker” phase, her induction felt like the equivalent of inducting someone like Lana, who whilst her work was good as a manager, it was nowhere near the legendary category, and arguably did not deserve a Hall Of Fame induction.
Sharmell’s legacy included working with the Nitro Girls in WCW, accompanying Booker to the ring, and getting stalked by The Boogeyman. There are many, many other women’s wrestlers who deserved a WWE Hall Of Fame induction before Sharmell did.
Koko B. Ware Was An Undercard Talent Who Shouldn’t Have Been Inducted
He Was Not At The Standard Of Other Hall Of Famers

2009 | Honky Tonk Man |
Koko B. Ware was a likable name from WWE’s past, but he was only ever a lower card wrestler. He was essentially a glorified jobber for the company who got over more because he donned a macaw on his shoulder.
He never so much as touched a championship in WWE, let alone pick up any big career-making wins throughout his career. It was a baffling induction when he was inducted, and it is still baffling to this day.
The Godfather Had A Fun Attitude Era Gimmick, But He Shouldn’t Be In The Hall Of Fame
He Had Midcard Gimmicks Throughout His Career

The Godfather was a popular name in the Attitude Era despite a now-dated gimmick, but for the most part he was never a major player in WWE and is someone who did not really earn his spot in the WWE Hall Of Fame.
He had a dud run as Papa Shango, stayed in essentially the same position on the card during his entire spell as The Godfather (aside from a brief spell as IC Champion), and never had a memorable match to shout about in WWE throughout any of his other WWE gimmicks that failed to stick too.
Donald Trump Is Only A Hall Of Famer Through McMahon Family Friendship
Trump Had Very Little Impact In WWE

2013 | Vince McMahon |
For the longest of times, being favoured by the McMahon family helped a lot in many aspects of life, career, and more. When it comes to the WWE Hall Of Fame, this also held true, which is why Donald Trump was inducted into the celebrity wing.

Being lean and skinny are two completely different things. Although not jacked, these lean WWE wrestlers still had muscular physiques.
There is an argument to be made for some celebrities to be inducted, but Trump is not one of them. Sure, he played a role in the Battle Of The Billionaires storyline and once “bought” Monday Night RAW, but in terms of long-term impact and love for the business, there are so many more deserving names.
Hillbilly Jim Was Never At A Hall Of Fame Level
The Loveable Character Should Not Have Been Inducted
Year Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame | Inducted By |

2018 | Jimmy Hart |
Hillbilly Jim has always been loved by WWE fans, with a cheesy but likeable gimmick and an infectious theme song. However, this was pretty much the height of his influence in WWE.
He didn’t win a single piece of championship gold in his entire career - inside or outside of WWE - and wasn’t particularly impressive in the ring either. His main career only spanned around six years, hardly leaving a big impact on the business.
William Shatner Is One Of The Most Bizarre WWE Hall Of Fame Inductions
A Poor Choice For The Celebrity Wing

2020 | N/A |
There are many baffling celebrity wing WWE Hall Of Fame inductions, and William Shatner is one of them. He once appeared on the King’s Court with Jerry Lawler, was in Bret Hart;scorner once, hosted RAW in 2010 for an episode, and provided a dramatic interpretation of entrances.
His sporadic appearances were so spread out that he never once felt part of the WWE family and his connection to the promotion is very thin. His spot in the celebrity wing of the Hall Of Fame felt forced and weird when it happened.
Celebrities In The WWE Hall Of Fame Could Be Questionable

2015 | Triple H |
Arnold Schwarzenegger is, of course, a legend in the bodybuilding and acting world, and he once had a memorable appearance on SmackDown, but he is yet another example of why the celebrity wing of the Hall Of Fame is a sham and should probably not even exist.
He was inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2015, but this just so happened to coincide with WWE advertising the latest move in the Terminator series, making the whole induction feel thin and meaningless anyway.
The Fabulous Moolah’s Controversial Side Means She Did Not Deserve Her Hall Of Fame Induction
Despite Her Credentials, She Should Never Have Been Inducted
Year Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame | Inducted By |

1995 | Alundra Blayze |
On paper, The Fabulous Moolah is one of the most legendary icons in women’s wrestling. However, when you take a peek behind her success, titles, and longevity, a very ugly world of controversy, abuse, allegations and more emerge.
Many have come forwards over the years, alleging Moolah’s misconduct, sexual abuse, financial abuse, and more, damaging her legacy a great deal. No matter how successful someone is in wrestling, if the real person behind the gimmick is a bad person, then they don’t deserve attention (or a Hall Of Fame induction).

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake is a fairly well known name from the Golden Era of WWE and his gimmick was popular, but he was never a main event talent or someone who stole the show at any point in his career.

Sunny Is One Of The Most Controversial WWE Hall Of Famers Of All Time
Her Legacy Has Been Heavily Damaged
Year Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame | Inducted By |
---|---|
2011 | WWE Divas |
Sunny was a hugely popular name during her time in WWE, bringing a huge amount of attention to women in wrestling during the Attitude Era. She is often seen as WWE’s first “Diva”, influencing a generation of women in the wrestling industry - for better or for worse.
Despite the popularity she held during her career, her life post-wrestling has been riddled with controversy and legal trouble. She has been arrested many times for a variety of issues, eventually being involved in a car accident that ended someone’s life. In 2023, she was sentenced to over 17 years in prison. All of this negativity surrounding her, and the poor decisions she has made, is why she should not be in WWE’s Hall Of Fame.
